( 2.9 / 92 )Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) September 07, 2011
Cauz-FX provides companies with a turnkey cause marketing program that co-brands them with well-respected charities.
In Las Vegas, Sam’s Club will be co-branded with BBBS in several unique ways.
It begins with the Sam’s Club logo being featured on the trucks operated by BBBS. These trucks travel throughout residential neighborhoods picking up donations at approximately 10,000 homes each month. This offers a unique opportunity for Sam’s Club and other brands to penetrate neighborhoods where other mediums cannot.
Each time BBBS picks up a donation of clothing, they leave behind a door hanger which is both a 'thank you’ card and a tax receipt for the donation. Those door hangers are now a co-branded marketing piece showcasing caring companies like Sam's Club.
Finally, the door hangers will direct donors to the Facebook page of ‘Cauzoupon’, the consumer facing side of Cauz-FX. There, consumers can access a special offer for a free $25 Gift Card from Sam's Club as a thank-you for donating to BBBS.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. - Looking at a photograph of little Mason Alexander Roisum next to a cake, he is full of happiness on his second birthday. Sadly, he would never have the chance to celebrate his third.
"March 27th, 2009. My little boy, he was two and a half, he drowned in our back yard pool," said his mother, Jenna Roisum.
Next week would have been Mason's fifth birthday.
"Having to live with a preventable death of your child is unbearable," said Roisum.
A mother's pain is eased only through time and acceptance.
"This is like the only way I know how to make it up to him and to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else," explained Roisum.
So today Jenna is part of Florida Safe Pools, reaching out to pool owners through door hangers...

( 3 / 119 )This is crazy. It just goes to show you that perspective is everything.

From the Bay City Michigan web site:
"The Bay City Police Department is asking residents to help us reduce the crimes of Home Invasion and Larcenies by locking your doors. If an officer becomes aware of an unsecured door he or she will attempt to contact the property owner. If that owner cannot be located, the officer will lock the property and affix a notice (door hanger) indicating the property was locked as a courtesy."
But according to this report, in the city of Shreveport, they had previously banned door hangers because some people believe that it makes it look like residents are not home. It should be noted that in Shreveport the door hanger ban han been lifted but it just goes to show you that perception is everything.
Now getting back to Bay City, is this really the best use of taxpayer dollars? I don't think I want ANYONE entering my home or locking my door while I'm not home. What if I just took a quick trip to the store and didn't take my house keys? What if I was in the back yard mowing the lawn? These nanny-state Bozos would lock me out of my house.

( 3 / 109 )West Nile virus has become an epidemic in Los Angeles County and because of this, county vector control specialists will go door-to-door today to warn residents of the dangers.
The Greater Los Angeles County Vector Control District will send workers to take measures to control mosquito populations and to warn residents of conditions that might be conducive to the spread of the disease, said city information officer, Marsha Roa.
In today's operation, staff members will target portions of the communities of Diamond Bar and Reseda.
Vector control specialists will go door-to-door and distributing door hangers in a section of Diamond Bar to warn residents of the dangers of West Nile Virus, which has become an epidemic in the Greater Los Angeles County area.
According to Roa, the canvassing will go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be in the general area west of the Orange (57) Freeway, near the Sunset Crossing and Prospectors neighborhoods.
The area to be covered is about a square mile.
Staff members will be notifying residents of the West Nile virus activity in their area, providing them with instructive brochures, and offering to conduct yard inspections for mosquito breeding sources. Bilingual Spanish/English door hangers will be left at homes where in-person contact cannot be made.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness and extend control and surveillance operations in order to safeguard residents against mosquito bites and virus transmission.

( 3 / 117 )Mexico, Mo. - The city began smoke testing the week of Aug. 15. Smoke testing has progressed through the first two areas on schedule and is being performed in the third area this week. Two more weeks of testing are anticipated in the areas listed below. This is part of the collection system evaluation work looking for sources of stormwater entering the sanitary sewer system.
The schedule is as follows: Week of Aug 29 – the testing area will be from Fairgrounds to Huntingfield and from Teal Lake Road to Boulevard.
Week of Sept 5 – the testing area will be generally between South Clark and Boulevard and the railroad tracks.
Week of Sept 12 – the testing area will be generally bounded by the railroad tracks, a line from the Clark Street bridge diagonally to Northeast Park, and Crestview
Work may progress faster or slower than scheduled depending on the results of the testing, and will continue until all the planned area is tested. Since the work needs to be done in dry weather, rain may delay the schedule.
Door hangers will be placed in neighborhoods immediately prior to work in that area. The smoke is white and is non-toxic. Residents should be sure that there is water in their drain traps. If smoke gets into a home or building it should be ventilated and reported to the testing crew in the neighborhood.

In July, more than 100 L.A. building trades, hotel and entertainment industry workers hung door hangers in Mar Vista to support good jobs and Farmers Field. Pictured above are members of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 105 with Maria Elena Durazo, head of L.A. Labor.
The momentum behind Farmers Field continues to build. Earlier this month, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously endorsed Farmers Field and the proposed renovation of the Convention Center.
But there is more work to be done.
The next step is to work with the California State Legislature on passing legislation that would protect Farmers Field from frivolous lawsuits that could delay the project or kill it entirely.
This Friday there will be a public hearing to discuss Farmers Field before state legislators. This will likely be the only public hearing held in Los Angeles to discuss the issue before the Legislature acts on it.
We are packing the hearing to show our support. Join us this Friday!

( 2.8 / 113 )"Door hanger" kits containing safety reminders and tips on how to be a good neighbor will be distributed to more than 2,700 homes surrounding the University at Buffalo's South Campus from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Organized by UB's Off-Campus Student Services office, and staffed by students, faculty, staff and neighborhood volunteers, it's all part of UB's continuing efforts to encourage community building.
Each year before the start of the academic year, UB distributes to students and other residents of University Heights packets containing safety reminders, suggestions for how to be a good neighbor, information from local governments and utilities, and other useful information.
Best time for media is 5 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Englewood Avenue, where Dennis Black, UB vice president for university life and services, will be available for interviews.
The kits are bags that will be hung on door handles, and include safety and courtesy tips that encourage students to "get to know your neighbors -- they can be a great asset," and "socialize responsibly."
The bags also contain information about upcoming university events, ideas about what individuals can do to work cooperatively and in invitation to the annual Labor Day weekend picnic on the South Campus.
"We are all responsible for keeping the community safe, clean and vibrant," said Daniel Ryan, PhD, director of Off-Campus Student Services. "Operation Door Hanger is UB's way of saying 'thanks for being a good neighbor' and 'be safe' to our off-campus students and the University Heights neighbors."

Press arrangements: Dan Ryan, director of Off-Campus Student Relations, at dryan@buffalo.edu or 829-3541, and Dennis Black onsite.

( 2.9 / 119 )Chalk up a win for our side!
Discussion among Shreveport public safety committee members Monday found unsolicited door hangers distributed in Shreveport neighborhoods are not addressed in city ordinances, but do not present a public safety risk.
Councilman Oliver Jenkins said he wonders whether placement of the hangers creates the appearance of someone not being home for an extended period of time.
Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw said it has not been a problem and doesn't see the hangers as a public safety risk.
Interest in the city's law on door hangers stemmed from resident complaints on the large printed streamers that advertise restaurants and other deals that are left hanging from front door knobs throughout Shreveport.
Jenkins said since there is no public risk associated with the hangers, he will request the company that makes them to simply add information at the bottom on how to stop receiving them.

( 3 / 116 )Yes that's right...door hangers!

Amarillo TX - Amarillo residents who have had warrants issued by the city of Amarillo, could be finding a red tag waiting for them on their doors.
The Amarillo Police Department is now leaving door hangers, that are red, and have a warrant order, on residents' doorknobs with an attempt to contact the person at the residence.
This is supposed to allow the Police to make sure that the person with the warrant gets the message, although there is really no assurance that the intended person will actually see the door hanger.
There are over 37,000 active warrants on file with the city of Amarillo.
In addition, officials from the city of Amarillo are also leaving door hangers as warnings to "water wasters." Yes, it looks like the nanny-state is encouraging citizens to report water wasters.
And you thought door hangers were just for Chineese take-out menus...

( 3.1 / 156 )It's a new program designed to save you money on your energy bill.
Blue Grass Energy rolled out its "Beat The Peak" program Friday morning in Madison County.
Employees were in the Boone's Trace subdivision in Richmond passing out door hangers with information about the program.
Customers who enroll in "Beat The Peak" will receive a text, phone call or email right before energy usage is about to hit its peak.
Blue Grass Energy officials say customers will then be able to take simple steps to try and lower their energy use and save money.
Those steps include: lowering thermostats, lowering the temperature on your hot water heater and waiting to do loads of laundry or run the dishwasher.

( 3.1 / 138 )LAS CRUCES - Some Las Cruces residents and businesses will experience a water outage on Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Mountain States Constructors Inc. continues work on the installation of new water line infrastructure as part of the New Mexico Department of Transportation's Valley Drive Rehabilitation Project.
Areas along Issacks Lane and at the intersection of Issacks Lane and Valley Drive will be affected.
If water on your street is scheduled to be turned off, crews will post a door hanger notice a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Once service is restored, residents may notice discolored water due to iron, manganese and calcium deposits. Although the water is safe to drink, the City recommends waiting to wash laundry until after the water becomes clear.
The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, residents should flush all faucets in the house or business for five minutes. If the discoloration remains, call the city at (575) 526-0500 for assistance or Las Cruces Utilities at (575) 528-3512

( 3 / 122 )In the event you come home and discover a door hanger from Chase Bank dangling on your front door, just dispose of it. That is because the Baxter County Sheriff's Office states that it's a scam.
Evidently someone is going door to door and distributig envelopes and door hangers on the front doors of residences and businesses. The message is allegedly from Chase Bank recommending the receipient call a toll-free number and be ready to provide an account number. Detectives say citizens should not contact the number listed, nor should they supply any personal information.
If you see anyone disseminating these door hangers, you are advised to get in touch with the sheriff's office at 870-424-4636.
